The Artist's Standard
The ACEO Standard
ACEO stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals. The absolute rule: they must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches (64 x 89 mm). Consistency in size allows collectors to store them in standard card albums and displays.
Originality Matters
Labeling your work as an Original (one-of-a-kind) or an Edition (a print or reproduction) helps set clear expectations and builds trust.
Picture Perfect
Try to take photos in bright, indirect sunlight. Including a shot of the back and a side view helps collectors appreciate the thickness and texture of your work.
Medium & Support
Detailing your materials helps collectors find your work. Whether it's watercolor on 300lb paper or acrylic on wood, your process is part of the story.
Listing Tips
Honesty about your work's details builds lasting trust. Clear titles and accurate keywords help the right collectors find your pieces organically.

An updated bio helps collectors connect with you personally. Sharing your inspirations and social media makes your tiny gallery feel real.
Shipping for Success
While shipping is handled by each artist, these best practices help ensure every card arrives safely and collectors stay happy.
Protective Packaging Tips
- Most artists recommend placing the card in a protective sleeve and then a top-loader (rigid plastic holder).
- Consider using a stay-flat mailer or rigid cardboard backing to help prevent any bending in transit.
- Including a small thank you note or artist card is a wonderful way to build repeat business.
Reliable Delivery Best Practices
- Try to ship within 5 business days when possible. Quick turnaround is one of the things collectors appreciate most.
- Many successful sellers use tracked shipping for anything over $20 to provide peace of mind for both parties.
- Keeping your buyer informed of the status once shipped helps build excitement and trust.
